Our Technologies

Every technology that EESG recommends is thoroughly tested, proven and backed by our hands-on knowledge of its exact effect on the electrical performance in a targeted connected load and the facilities entire energy system. With in-depth experience and knowledge of the field, we are able to choose from a vast array of technologies to meet the power quality and reduction needs of every type of business.

EESG’s portfolio of energy conservation/management solutions include:
  • EESG Chiller Optimizer™ System. This self-contained microprocessor system is specifically designed for use with larger chillers and combines the highest quality state-of-the-art micro processing controls to enhance larger chiller efficiencies that are already installed.
  • EESG Energy Management System (EMS2000™) utilizes unique wireless technology to create a virtual information invisible control network throughout the facility. This wireless EMS allows the client to monitor and control rooftop HVAC units, HVAC zone controls, metering and monitoring controls and other loads in their facility. Our system applies to all facility systems.
  • EESG PaceControls™ enhances boilers and chillers up to 90 tons through a patented micro processing unit that adjusts related systems’ decisions regarding already installed boilers, resistance heaters, roof top chillers, air conditioners and refrigeration equipment.
  • EESG's Power Conditioning System reduces power consumption by improving the power quality.  It is designed to provide a significant reduction in your electrical bills, increase the life of electrical motors and provide surge protection for homes, businesses and commercial facilities.  The application has benefits for both the consumer and the supplier of electrical power.
EESG energy consultants use our unique analysis software to create a turnkey energy solution plan based on our comprehensive energy audit of each related facility. Our systems are passive and require no employee training or change in existing operations, which is imperative for our large customers’ operations.

CHILLER OPTIMIZER™
This self-contained microprocessor system is specifically designed for use with large facility chillers. There are NO compromises to comfort or chiller performance, only improved efficiency.

The Chiller Optimizer™ utilizes the sophisticated decision making capabilities to exercise complete control of any brand of chiller, large or small, new or retrofit. It can be used as a stand-alone control or interfaced with a central control system (EMS/BAS) to provide major gains in convenience, efficiency, and profits.

The Chiller Optimizer™ achieves 20-30% energy savings with improved temperature and compressor control, peak demand reduction with optimum start of lag chillers and improved temperature control with a reduction in cold and hot calls.

Further, our Chiller Optimizer™ increases engineering efficiency by reducing chiller control/maintenance work orders and will extend chiller life.

PACECONTROLLERS™
EESG’s PaceControllers™ are designed to control and maximize the efficiency of your heating and cooling equipment.  Our PaceController™ is easy to install and works independently or integrates with your existing BAS/EMS.  The system is scalable to any size project and remotely accessible via PC Computers for control and real-time or historical electric, gas and hot water consumption management.

PaceControllers™ typically achieves energy savings of 10% -20+% range in heating and cooling applications resulting from:

Heating:
  • Savings via reduced peak and average demand.
  • Essentially turns a less efficient burner into a more modern and efficient “pulse-fired” system.
  • “Standard-efficiency” burners can fire for extended periods that are necessary to reach set points.
  •  Natural gas and oil furnaces may heat the plenum to reach high temperatures for extreme periods of time, exhausting much of the heat, while the thermostat is satisfied at much lower air temperatures, or water temperatures.
  • The PaceController™ establishes a pace that allows for more efficient heat transfer, boosting the overall efficiency of the unit.
  • PaceController™ controlled burner units operate in shorter pulses, with more of the heat effectively transferred to the air or water, but always with the thermostat remaining in control.
  • Utilizing PaceControllers™ allows you to improve the efficiency of older mid efficiency equipment or purchase less expensive equipment and retrofit to achieve higher efficiency with less capital outlay.
Cooling:
  • Works with existing thermostat controls to operate the compressor for programmed intervals without turning the entire appliance off.
  • Since cooling and dehumidification don’t depend on how long the compressor runs – depend on how much refrigerant changes state from liquid to gas.
  • Solution: run the compressor the minimum interval needed to cause compression of the maximum quantity of refrigerant per unit of compressor run time.
  • During idling interval, (within manufacturers recommendations), cooling and dehumidification continues as the gas returns to liquid, but the compressor itself uses no energy.
  • Reduced compressor run time and circulating fan minimize coil freeze over, supporting more efficient thermal transfer – less icing also means better thermal transfer and less energy is used in defrost.
  • Cooling equipment is sized for the highest outdoor temperature in your area, the PaceController™ resizes your unit to meet normal operating conditions and with added sensors or EMS controls adjusts the compressor output to meet increased cooling need to satisfy thermostat or energy savings targets.

EMS2000™
Our EMS2000™ is a self-contained microprocessor “Energy Management System” that will control and manage your facility’s heating, cooling and lighting systems. Our system utilizes wireless technology for access via PC Computer to buildings for real-time or historical electric, gas and water consumption.
The EMS2000’s™ ROI is typically 12 to 24 months with implementation of the integrated alarm reporting system for heating and air conditioning equipment, lighting and critical building and utility energy usage parameters.

  • The EMS2000™ is a modular and expandable system for future growth with wireless implementation utilizing inexpensive RF technology.
  • Develops a database for trend analysis of equipment and performance.
  • Enables optimum scheduling of equipment service based on actual equipment run hours.
  • Controls gas/electric, oil furnaces or heat pumps with either one or two stages of heating and cooling.
  • Records operating times for each HVAC component and cooling / heating degree-days on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Programs all HVAC operating parameters such as staging temperatures, short cycle times, minimum operating times, anticipation, and other parameters that optimize system performance and economy.
  • Programs minimum equipment performance levels that when exceeded generate alarm conditions.
  • All energy data, programs and operating parameters are stored in non-volatile ram to prevent loss during power outages.
  • Controls and monitors four individual lighting circuits.
  • Records operating times for each lighting circuit on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Programs all lighting schedules and operating parameters such as on / off times for exterior signage and parking, override times for after hour work, and other parameters that optimize system performance and economy.
  • Optional occupancy sensor and light sensors for added control and system integration.
  • All energy data, programs and operating parameters are stored in non-volatile ram to prevent loss during power outages.
POWER CONDITIONING SYSTEM
EESG's Power Conditioning System is an energy savings technological that improves power quality.  It is designed to provide a significant reduction in your electrical bills, increase the life of electrical motors and provide surge protection for homes, businesses and commercial facilities.  The application has benefits for both the consumer and the supplier of electrical power. When installed on targeted loads, our equipment will improve the overall power quality and electrical consumption efficiency of the facility.

EESG's Power Conditioning system reduces electrical consumption through power factor optimization. The system reduces heat generation of the delivery system, which reduces wasted electrical energy.

EESG designs each Power Conditioning System application on a case by case basis.

Savings, benefits and operations:
  • Cancels reactive current demanded by motors.
  • Cancels harmonic current demanded by non-linear equipment.
  • Adjusts and reduces power demanded by lighting (without reducing lumens).
  • Our equipment is passive, not involving load cycling.
  • Will not alter operations.
  • 20 year life expectancy.
  • Improves the reliability and power quality of the facility.
  • Electrical motors, light bulbs and ballasts, transformers, panels, switch gear, breakers, starters and controls all run cooler.
  • Switching power supplies are more stable.
  • Light bulbs and ballast replacement costs are reduced.
  • Computer data and operations are more stable.
