Dick Lord, Carrier’s Director of Engineering, Pace Controller™ is a device known as duty cycle controller. Such devices, which are used in motor and other control systems, make the controlled equipment more efficient by matching the effort made (and thus energy consumed) to the required effort over time (i.e., the “duty cycle).”
